A geothermal system uses the earth's energy by using a series of pipes buried in the ground taking advantage of the earth's constant temperatures. During the heating season the fluid inside the sealed loop absorbs heat from the earth and carries it to the geothermal unit located in the home. In the cooling season the system process reverses. Heat is removed from the building and transferred to the earth loop and depositing it in the cooler earth.
